Oita to Use AI Technology to Monitor Onsen Sources Posted On 08-10-2019

Oita, Kyushu

The New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) will introduce an AI system to monitor any impact of geothermal plants on the hot springs sources in the city of Beppu, Oita Prefecture. The AI-based monitoring system has been under development by NEDO and three other engineering companies since 2018. Functions such as analyzing the amount of hot water and its temperature will be tested through the project beginning in mid-October, aiming to relieve concerns amongst the local hot spring owners. Source: New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization, 9/20/2019
