Engineer Friendly City Fukuoka Award Announced Posted On 29-10-2019

Fukuoka City has established an Engineer Friendly City Fukuoka Award beginning this year. With the goal of becoming a city where “engineers gather, be active and mature,” the project will award communities and companies that contribute to further enhance their working environment. Beginning on October 30, the organizers are seeking nominees. Also, online public voting is scheduled between early December to early January. Applications for Cruise Train “Seven Stars in Kyushu” spring-summer 2020 open 1 October 2019 Posted On 08-10-2019

The Cruise Train “Seven Stars in Kyushu” is celebrating 7 years since it made its first run on the 15th of October 2013.

The train was created collaborating the traditions of Kyushu, and the craftwork of local artisans. 2020 will mark the 7th anniversary since it started running in 2013.

In celebration of the 7th anniversary, we have prepared several special anniversary journeys, including a 2 Day Spring Pre-Tour to Ukiha, to enjoy the beautiful cherry blossoms before boarding the Seven Stars for a 2 day journey, and a nostalgic Seven Stars journey.

You can still apply for the regular Seven Stars journeys during the application period which commences 1st of October 2019.

Blossom Hakata Premier Opens in Hakata Posted On 08-10-2019

The Blossom Hakata Premier, a premier class hotel operated by JR Kyushu, opened near Canal City Hakata on September 25. With convenient access from both from Hakata Station and the Nakasu area, the hotel aims to welcome business people as well as tourists especially from western countries with its spacious rooms. More than half of its 238 rooms are designed larger than 30 square meters. Guests can also enjoy locally produced sake at a lounge on the top floor. Oita to Use AI Technology to Monitor Onsen Sources Posted On 08-10-2019

The New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) will introduce an AI system to monitor any impact of geothermal plants on the hot springs sources in the city of Beppu, Oita Prefecture. The AI-based monitoring system has been under development by NEDO and three other engineering companies since 2018. Vietnam Airlines to Add Flights Between Fukuoka and Ho Chi Minh Posted On 08-10-2019

Vietnam Airlines has announced increased flights between the cities of Fukuoka and Ho Chi Minh. Between December 24, 2019 to February 7, 2020, the number of flights per week will be gradually increased from the current four to six. The route opened in 2003 and has since been popular amongst tourists. For 2019, the company is expecting a total of 65,000 passengers for its Hanoi-Fukuoka and Ho Chi Minh-Fukuoka flights, adding 9,000 to that of the previous year. Source: Zaikai Kyushu, 10/3/2019
